The Breville the Milk Café was the only frother to appear in all six reviews we analyzed, landing as the premium or splurge pick everywhere from Reviewed.com and Food Network to Yahoo Shopping, CoffeeVoila, and Latte Art Guide, which named it Best Choice for 'customisation abilities that none of its competitors can match.' Its adjustable temperature dial and two swappable frothing discs give you genuine control over airy cappuccino foam versus dense latte microfoam, and at 25 oz it holds the largest capacity in the test group with a dishwasher-safe pitcher.

What It Won't Do
It is slow and large. Reviewed.com and CNN Underscored both flagged extended frothing times, and at $199.95 with a big footprint it asks for both counter space and a premium budget.
The Instant MagicFroth was named Best Overall by three independent hands-on tests, Reviewed.com, Food Network, and CoffeeVoila, despite costing about a third of the Breville. Reviewed.com credited it with 'billows of foam regardless of milk type or temperature setting,' and its 9-in-1 preset menu plus dishwasher-safe pitcher make it the easiest of our winners to live with.
What It Won't Do
CoffeeVoila clocked frothing at 4.5+ minutes, so it is the slowest of our countertop picks on a single drink, and Food Network found the plain warming setting doesn't heat milk quite hot enough.
